R Sai Kishore was seen tearing up during the Indian national anthem at the Asian Games quarterfinal between India and Nepal, Dinesh Karthik lauds the youngster
The Indian men’s cricket team beat Nepal by 23 runs in their maiden Asian Games quarterfinal fixture. Ahead of the match, as the Indian players lined up for the national anthems, debutant Sai Kishore was seen in tears.
Former Indian wicketkeeper batter Dinesh Karthik took notice of Sai Kishore’s viral image, lauding the youngster who was seen in tears during the national anthems. The video of Kishore’s emotional moment went viral on social media like wildfire, and Karthik too praised Kishore for his hardwork.
The veteran wrote that he was incredibly happy to see Kishore make his T20I debut, lauding the 26-year-old for his hard work over the years, and how much he has improved his batting, becoming a reliable player in all formats in domestic cricket.

He further added, “The way he’s improved his batting tells you all about him , he was literally a STROKELESS wonder, and from there he’s absolutely transformed into someone who can be relied upon in any format. I can keep speaking about him , but for now I’m just so happy to see him become an INDIAN cricketer and noone can ever take that away from him.”

Kishore bowled four overs during the win over Nepal, picking up a solitary wicket of Nepali opener Kushal Bhurtel, giving away just 25 runs on his debut. His all-rounder effort allowed the Indian team to restrict Nepal to a total of 179/9 in 20 overs after the Indian team had smashed 202/4 having batted first.
Yashasvi Jaiswal had smashed a century, his maiden in T20I cricket, becoming the youngest Indian to hit a ton in the shortest format. Jaiswal also became the first Indian to hit a century in the Asian Games as India eased their way into the semifinal.
Earlier, the Indian women’s cricket team had won the gold in cricket, and the Ruturaj Gaiked-led unit will also be the firm favourites to add another gold to India’s medal tally.
