The Internet was taken by storm when Virat Kohli and Gambhir were seen going face-to-face with each other after an IPL match where Royal Challengers Bangalore defeated the Lucknow Super Giants. While it has been more than a month since that infamous incident, however, people are still talking about it.
What happened between Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir?
Virat Kohli, Gautam Gambhir, and Naveen-ul-Haq were involved in an on-field spat during the high-voltage IPL 2023 match between LSG and RCB on May 1st. RCB went on to defeat Lucknow away from home but the game saw tempers flare at the end.
Kohli and Naveen came face-to-face with each other during the match and after the game as well. Former Indian cricketer Gautam intervened and had an ugly spat with Virat Kohli. KL Rahul, who was carrying a thigh injury, had to intervene and separate the two.
Both Kohli and Gambhir were fined 100% of their respective match fees for the altercation, which was deemed a Level 2 offense and in breach of the IPL Code of Conduct’s Article 2.21.
This wasn’t the first time that both the cricketers came face-to-face in a heated conversation. Back in 2013, a similar incident took place when RCB played against KKR.
Gambhir To Open Up About The Fight:
While everyone is aware of what happened after the game, no one is aware of ‘who said what?’. For the first time ever since the incident, former Indian cricketer Gambhir will open up about the incident in an exclusive interview with journalist Amish Devgn on News 18.
Amish Devgn took to his social media and shared the details of the exclusive interview with Gambhir. He wrote:
