The three-match ODI series between India Women and Bangladesh Women ended with a thrilling encounter on Saturday, July 22 at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka. The third ODI between the two teams ended in a tie after a great drama. The series ended 1-1, with Bangladesh winning the first ODI, followed by India winning the second.
In the third ODI, Bangladesh won the toss and opted to bat first. Opener Fargana Hoque led the charge with the bat for them. She slammed a century, scoring 107 runs off 160 deliveries, with seven boundaries. Shamima Sultana also played a fine hand scoring a fifty in the match. Bangladesh put on 225 runs on the board. Meanwhile, Sneh Rana was the pick of the bowlers with a couple of wickets.
In response, India suffered early blows, with Shafali Verma and Yastika Bhatia getting dismissed in the first five overs. Smriti Mandhana got together with Harleen Deol to put up a good partnership. The duo added 107 runs for the third-wicket stand. Smriti Mandhana slammed 59 runs, while Harleen Deol scored 77 runs.
Despite their efforts, India faced a setback as Deol got run out. The match reached an interesting stage when India needed 14 runs from the last five overs. They have four wickets in hand. Bangladesh bowlers pulled the game back, with Fahima Khatun and Rabeya Khan, keeping the runs in check, reducing India to nine down. With one run needed from four deliveries, Marufa Akter dismissed Meghana Singh. The fans were disappointed with India’s batting effort.

Umpiring has been pathetic in Bangladesh. India also need to learn from their collapses. How many times we have seen India missing the winning plot after a crazy collapse. 6 wickets on just 34 to end the game in tie. Batting has been a failure and it needs to be solved. #INDvBAN

The ODI series being tied is a fair result
Bangladesh really pushed India hard right through the T20Is and have been on level pegging in the ODI series
The fact that they did this without some of their greatest players ever shows that the future is bright for them#BANvIND

Surprised with the kind of umpiring that was happening: Harmanpreet Kaur
Indian skipper Harmanpreet Kaur was disappointed with numerous decisions by the umpires during the third ODI against Bangladesh. She expressed that India was in control in the chase, but “pathetic umpiring decisions” led to the game eventually ending in a tie. Harmanpreet was lbw while trying to sweep. She was displeased with the decision and reacted by smashing the stumps with her bat before having a heated exchange with the umpire Tanvir Ahmed.
“Even apart from the cricket, the kind of umpiring that was happening we were very surprised. The next time we come to Bangladesh we will make sure we have to deal with this type of umpiring and prepare ourselves accordingly,” said Harmanpreet Kaur at the post-match press conference.
