The Indian cricket team is taking on West Indies in the second match of the ongoing 5-match T20I series. As the game started, the 28-year-old left-arm wrist-spinner Kuldeep Yadav was not part of India’s playing XI in the second T20I game against West Indies despite performing brilliantly in the first match of the series.
Why Kuldeep Yadav Is Not Playing the 2nd T20I vs West Indies?
The second T20I match of the 5-match series between the Hardik Pandya-led Indian cricket team and the Rovman Powell-led West Indies cricket team got underway at the Providence Stadium in Guyana on Sunday, August 06.
Kuldeep Yadav resumed his good ODI form in the T20I series against West Indies and picked one wicket in the first game. In his first four overs, Yadav dismissed Johnson Charles and gave away just 20 runs.
However, he wasn’t included in the second T20I match as he had sustained an injury. The BCCI revealed that the spinner got hit while batting in the nets and was eventually ruled out of the match because of a sore left thumb. The BCCI updated:
“UPDATE: Kuldeep Yadav got hit while batting in the nets and was unavailable for selection for the 2nd T20I due to a sore left thumb,”

Meanwhile, speaking at the toss, captain Hardik Pandya informed that Kuldeep Yadav has been replaced by young leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi in the team. He said:
“We will bat first, surface looks good. We will put good score on the board. I don’t we did much wrong in the last game, we spoke about it and the focus is to learn and keep going ahead. When we have these totals, you gotta keep wickets in hand and that’s what happened in the last game where we lost a couple of wickets during crunch moments.
“We have a forced change. Kuldeep got a hit on the hand yesterday in the nets, it is not serious and just a precautionary measure. Ravi Bishnoi comes in place of him.”
