Mohammed Siraj picked up a fiery six wicket haul leaving Sri Lanka batting order in tatters as the defending champions collapsed from 8/2 to 40/8
Mohammed Siraj bowled a historic six-wicket spell to leave Sri Lanka in tatters in the Asia Cup 2023 final. Having won the toss, Sri Lanka captain Dasun Shanaka chose to bat first but his decision backfired spectacularly as Siraj left the Sri Lankan batting order shocked with his four wickets in a single over.
In the fourth over of the Sri Lanka inning Siraj dismissed Pathum Nissanka on 2 runs, Sadeera Samarawickrama on a duck, Charith Asalanka on a duck and Dhanjaya de Silva on 4 runs.
Sri Lankan captain Dasun Shanaka was also dismissed on a duck in the next over as Sri Lanka collapsed from 8/2 to 12/6. Siraj is the fastest Indian to take a five-wicket haul in ODI history, his five wickets came in just 16 balls, sending social media on fire.

Siraj then dismissed Kusal Mendis on 17 and completed a six-wicket for the first time in his career. Former Indian cricketers Wasim Jaffer, and Dinesh Karthik among others shared posts on social media lauding the 29-year-old. It was six wickets in just 5.2 overs leaving the former Indian cricketers impressed.

Siraj registered historic figures and left the Sri Lanka batters shocked, they had no idea how to play the Indian pacer.
