India’s stand-in captain Suryakumar Yadav has continued on his supreme touch in the T20 format as he cracked 39 runs in 29 balls in the third T20I against Australia on Tuesday in Guwahati.
While Ruturaj Gaikwad struggled at one end, going at about a run-a-ball, Suryakumar Yadav was in his element. At the start of his innings, he unleashed his famous, trademark ‘Supla’ shot to take six runs off fast bowler Nathan Ellis. SKY backed it up with another six over fine leg.
Senior India off-spinner R Ashwin, who was watching this match from the comforts of his home, hailed Suryakumar Yadav’s first six to Ellis. Ashwin said that even after seeing Suryakumar play this shot time and again with aplomb and stunning execution, he was still mesmerized as he saw it today once again
.
To a length delivery on off-stump, Suryakumar sat down with one leg across, effectively in a sweeping position. But with just a smooth, swift wave of the bat, he picked it up and deposited it on the leg-side for a six.
R Ashwin took to Twitter to give his reaction on this amazing stoke from Suryakumar Yadav.
Ashwin tweeted: “I have watched him play this shot so many times but the thrill it gives me while I watch it is the same every single time. 🔥#incredible #indvsaust20″
