Tennis Tactics – 3 Ways To Win More Singles Matches.
Winning singles matches in tennis comes down to knowing how to defeat different game styles. However, these three tactics will work against all game styles if you execute the play well.
In this video, Top Tennis Training coach Simon Konov will share three tactics and strategy’s with you to help you win more singles matches in tennis.
Tactic One
Being more consistent than your opponent. It may sound very obvious but it’s the most overlooked strategy in tennis. Too often, players focus on hitting winners, going for big serves and play low percentage tennis which results in them defeating themselves.
By simply keeping the ball in play and waiting for your opponent to break down, you can win many matches in tennis, at all levels.
Tactic Two
Finding your opponents weakness. Ninety percent of all tennis players around the world have a stronger forehand and a weaker backhand. Being able to exploit your opponent’s weaknesses will help you win more points and if you use this strategy on big points such as deuce points or break points, then you can win more of them and this will help you win the match.
Tactic Three
Finishing off points at the net. Think about how often you get shorter balls in matches, ball that land close to or inside the service boxes. If you don’t approach off these balls, your opponent will relax and think “It doesn’t matter if I hit short as this player doesn’t punish me for it”
This, in turn, can actually make them play better as they’ll relax.
On the flip side of that, if you attack the net, even if you lose the point, you’re making your opponent to hit deeper and this could force them into breaking down more often.
