Former India fast bowler Venkatesh Prasad once again slammed KL Rahul and his team Lucknow Super Giants after they were beaten by Gujarat Titans in a last-over thriller. Though, LSG was off to a brilliant start, and with KL scoring another fifty, the Lucknow side looked all set to clinch the win. However, with 17 runs needed from the last over, Mohammed Shami and Mohit Sharma stole the show and turned the tables upside down as they produced a brilliant bowling spell. LSG could only manage to score 9 runs and lost four wickets in the final over.
KL Rahul Under Scanner For Slow Knock
Besides this, LSG captain Rahul has found himself under the scanner of criticism after yet another slow knock. Though he slammed 50 off 33 balls but he scored just 18 in the next 28 deliveries. Not just this, but Rahul suffered another maiden first over in the innings. This was Rahul’s second first over maiden in back-to-back matches in the Indian Premier League. The first one came against Trent Boult of Rajasthan Royals.
Though, skipper-cum-opener KL Rahul showed glimpses of his return to form but he played a slow knock of a 61-ball 68.
Meanwhile, Rahul is getting criticized heavily after the game, and he himself couldn’t believe what had happened in the last over of the innings. The fans were left disappointed after witnessing LSG’s collapse. Fans on social media are also disappointed with the LSG captain and are trolling him left, right, and center for his slow knock.
Venkatesh Prasad Slammed Rahul
Among many, former Indian cricketer Venkatesh Prasad also took to his social media and lashed out at KL Rahul following LSG‘s defeat and wrote
“Bottling a run chase when 30 needed of 35 balls with 9 wickets in hand requires some baffling batting. Happened with Punjab in 2020 on few ocassions losing games they should have won easily. As brilliant as Guj were with ball & Hardik smart with his captaincy, brainless from Lko”

After the game, even KL Rahul was left shellshocked after the defeat and stated that he could not explain how the events unfolded. He said:
“I don’t know how it has happened. It happened too fast. I can’t put a finger on where we let the game slip, which was in our pocket,”
He added: “We were quite brilliant with the ball and in the field. 135 is probably par or 10 under par. We used the conditions well. We started pretty well with the bat too. I still can’t say what happened,”
“At the end of the day it is just a game, we still have four wins in seven, but this is going to sting for a while. We were well ahead in the game, I wasn’t trying to bat really deep, I was still trying to take the bowlers on that I fancy,”
