It can be said with certainty that the Pakistan captain Babar Azam was really delighted at the dismissal of Bangladesh veteran Mushfiqur Rahim. So much so that Babar pulled Haris Rauf’s hair in excitement and elation.
Bangladesh and Pakistan met on Tuesday for their World Cup 2023 match at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. Bangladesh captain Shakib Al Hasan won the toss and elected to bat first. But it were the Pakistani bowlers who stunned them, bowling Bangladesh out for only 204 runs.
Bangladesh were rocked back early as they went down to 23/3 inside the first six overs, with veteran batsman Mushfiqur Rahim being dismissed by Haris Rauf. Rahim managed only 5 runs and was caught behind off Rauf’s bowling, outside edging a length delivery that seamed away just a little to take the outside edge of Rahim’s bat.
Pakistan captain Babar Azam looked pumped up and let out a big roar at Rauf getting Rahim. In the team celebratory huddle then, Babar Azam pulled Rauf’s hair as a mode to show his passion and elation at Rauf picking up Rahim’s wicket in his first over of the match.
