Virat Kohli Makes A Big Statement On India vs Australia Rivalry Ahead Of WTC Final 2023: India and Australia are all set to resume their on-field rivalry as they are all set to take on each other in the upcoming ICC World Test Championship 2023, which will kickstart from June 7th at the Oval Stadium in London.
Ahead of the much-awaited clash, Virat has said that the iconic rivalry between the two cricketing giants has cooled down. To explain his point further, Kohli mentioned the Test win in 2018-2019 and 2020-2021, following which the rivalry came down.

While speaking to Star Sports in an interview, Virat mentioned that earlier, the rivalry between the two teams used to be quite intense but after the Indian cricket team won two series in Australia, the rivalry has turned into respect.
Further, Kohli said that the Indian cricket team cannot be taken lightly anymore. He said:
“The rivalry between India and Australia, in the early days, used to be a lot intense. There used to be a tense environment. But after we won 2 series in Australia, the rivalry has turned into respect. We can’t be taken lightly as a Test team. We can see the respect the oppositions have for us. They expect us to give a close fight even in their conditions. We can’t be taken lightly anymore,”
He added: “There used to be tension in the air in the past. But that’s not there now. You have your presence now, there’s standing on level terms now,”

Further, talking about the WTC Final, Kohli said that whichever team adapts quickly will win the all-important clash. He said that the upcoming India vs Australia final in England will be a cracker, considering that both the teams are playing in a neutral venue. He said:
“You can’t expect a certain type of condition when you go out and bat at the Oval. There is a need to adapt and adjust quickly. It’s only a one-off match for both teams. The team that adapts better will prevail,” Virat Kohli added.
“This is the beauty of WTC, there are two teams at a neutral venue. And the beauty of it is to see how the two teams adapt,”
