The fans at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru witnessed a boundary fest on Monday as RCB locked its horns against Lucknow Super Giants in Match number 15 of the ongoing 2023 edition of the Indian Premier League.
RCB rained fours and sixes all around the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru as they posted a colossal total of 212 runs for the loss of just one wicket against Lucknow Super Giants. However, the one shot that stood out and broke the internet came from RCB skipper Faf du Plessis, who smashed a humongous six that went sailing out of the stadium.
Faf du Plessis smashed the longest six of IPL 2023
That stunning six made everyone jump out of their seats and even left Glenn Maxwell and Virat Kohli absolutely shell-shocked.
The monstrous six came in the 15th over of the game when LSG leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi dropped it short against the former South Africa captain. Faf hung back and smashed it high, sky high, straight over the Chinnaswamy roof for a monstrous 115m six. This was one of his longest sixes ever in IPL history and also the longest six of IPL 2023.
Not just this, du Plessis was himself left stunned at his own shot. However, it was the reaction of Maxwell and Kohli that stole all the attention on social media. In the replay, Maxwell was seen left dumbfounded and then couldn’t stop laughing as he looked towards Du Plessis.

Virat Kohli, who was sitting in the dugout, was completely shocked and was seen saying “I couldn’t have hit that far” to his RCB mate.

Talking about Faf’s knock, he eventually finished with an unbeaten 79 while Maxwell amassed 59 runs. Kohli also contributed with 61 runs as RCB posted 12 runs to make a mockery of Lucknow’s attack.
