The New York Red Bulls made a very sporting gesture as the players gave up their jackets to shield the young mascots from the heavy rains.
There are moments on the football pitch that touch everyone’s heart and one such incident that took place moments before a Major League Soccer (MLS) match between New York Red Bulls and Inter Miami caught everyone’s attention.
New York Red Bulls recorded a convincing 4-0 win and fans present at the Red Bull Arena, in New York City, witnessed a heart-warming gesture from the home team. New York Red Bulls footballers decided to give their coats to the young coats who accompanied the players amid incessant rain.
Forward Dante Vanzeir started the trend by giving his jacket to one mascot out of selflessness and it set off a domino effect.

The other players in the New York lineup followed suit. The social media account of the New York Red Bulls shared the footage of the players’ compassionate gesture. “We’re not crying, you are,” read the post shared by the American football club on social media platform X (formerly Twitter). Needless to say, the post soon received praise from fans and viewers across the globe.
The incident set up what would go on to become a memorable evening for New York Red Bulls fans and the players themselves. Hamstrung by the absence of the injured Lionel Messi, Inter Miami were hapless and devoid of solutions as Lewis Morgan ran riot and scored a hat-trick against the Herons.
Although the former Barcelona trio of Jordi Alba, Sergio Busquets, and Luis Suarez started the game, they could not influence the outcome of the fixture.

“There is not much to say, except that we were outmatched from start to finish,” Inter Miami coach Gerardo Martino said following the humiliating loss.
“Red Bulls had the desire to win and we had no desire to compete. When a team enters a game without the desire to win, without spirit, without competing, and the other side just wants to win the game, they are going to win it,” Gerardo Martino added.
